LIMEKILN MEMORIAL SERVICE.

On July 28th 2018 it was the 95th anniversary of the explosion that claimed the lives of 27 brave men who were attempting to extinguish gob fires that were threatening the very existence of Maltby Colliery.

A remembrance service was held on Limekiln Lane at the site of the memorial. There were short speeches and a service conducted by Mike Rajdovic. Mrs Searson attended the memorial on behalf of Maltby Lilly Hall Academy, laying a wreath in respect of those who perished in the explosion.
